Jesse Turner (1805-1894) was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, 1838-40; U.S. attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, 1851-53; member Secession Convention of 1861; member Arkansas Senate, 1866-68, 1874-76; president Little Rock and Fort Smith Railroad, 1857-68; and associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, 1878.
